At Hearing Focused, we believe the patient should have choices that match their budget and lifestyle. Most places will charge thousands of dollars and bundle everything together, not giving the patient an option of how many years of office visits they want. Hearing Focused unbundles their pricing from the professional office visits so you don’t overpay for something you don’t need.
What Is Unbundling?
Whether we realize it or not, almost every day we experience the concept of bundled vs. unbundled pricing.
Here’s an example: If you buy a car loaded with all the options that not only includes the cost of the vehicle, but also includes oil changes and tire rotations for the first 50,000 miles, that is bundled pricing. You might pay more, but you take comfort knowing that routine maintenance is covered for the first couple of years you own your car. Likewise, you might prefer to buy a bare bones model and be responsible for scheduling the maintenance yourself. You’d prefer to pay separately for each oil change and tire rotations as you need them. That’s an example of unbundling. You pay for services and supplies a la carte and in many cases that can save you hundreds of dollars for services you didn’t need.
If you are shopping for hearing aids, the concept is the same, and it’s something you should discuss with your audiologist. Some practices only sell hearing aids in a bundled pricing model, while others only sell them in an unbundled model, and yet others use a hybrid pricing model to help patients meet their budget goals and preferences.
The Best Hearing Aids for You
In many cases, Hearing Focused offers technology that is less costly than the required co-pays of third-party plans, and our private pay pricing options are more competitively priced. We are often told our prices are less expensive than those around us. We believe patients deserve to hear better, and we try our best to enable you to get help by offering fair pricing and payment plans if needed.
Typically, the cost of prescription hearing aids starts at a little less than $999 for each hearing aid and increases, depending on how many hearing aids are needed, the style and level of technology purchased, and the professional hearing aid-related office visits chosen with your purchase. Hearing aid costs increase with more advanced and sophisticated technology and/or when more services are included.
Discuss your budget and any questions you have about cost with your audiologist. Each individual’s hearing loss presents unique challenges. Take your audiologist’s expertise regarding product quality and follow-up services into consideration when making your purchase decision. We have a wide range of technology available to fit almost any budget and offer convenient payment plans and accept credit cards.
